Richmond vein Center staffThe Richmond Vein Center opened in 2004 and is focused on treating venous disorders including spider veins and varicose veins.

We are proud to annouce that we are one of the very few centers in the Richmond area performing The VNUS® Closure® procedure for the minimally invasive treatment of symptomatic varicose veins. Dr. Gould has performed over 3000 VNUS Closures, the most in the Richmond area.

The Richmond Vein Center is located on the Henrico Doctors' Hospital-Parham Campus.


Dr. Charles F. Gould, II

Charles Gould, MDDr. Charles F. Gould, II, obtained his medical degree from Downstate Medical Center-State University of New York.  He received his general surgery training at San Francisco General and Kaiser Hospitals in San Francisco and went on to complete a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Southern California.

He has served as Chairman of Department of Surgery at Health South Medical Center from 1996-2000.  He currently is Medical Director of the Vascular Laboratory at Henrico Doctors Hospital-Parham Campus where he has served since 2001.

His interest in vascular surgery is currently devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of venous disorders of the lower extremities, which include leg pain, stasis ulcers, varicose veins and spider veins and as of June 2011, a diplomate of The American Board of Phlebology.

Dr. Gould has been in private practice in the Richmond area since 1990.  Prior to moving to Richmond, Dr. Gould served as Clinical Instructor of Surgery at University of California, San Francisco from 1985-1990.  He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, American College of Phlebology, Richmond Medical Society of Virginia.


Christopher D. Cox, pa-C

CoxMr. Cox earned a Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in 1997. He continued his education by obtaining a Masters of Physician Assistant degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. Following his formal education, he was employed by the Interventional Radiology department at University of Virginia Hospital where he specialized in venous procedures.  Mr. Cox also worked for the Interventional Radiology department at MCV where he helped develop a Vein Service before joining The Richmond Vein Center.  He received advanced training in phlebology and specializes in the VNUS Closure procedure, sclerotherapy, and ambulatory phlebectomy.


Vascular Technologist

The Richmond Vein Center has a very experienced vascular technologist who will perform the doppler examinations and help make an accurate assessment of your venous problem. She will also actively participate in The VNUS® ClosureFastprocedure.
